Tranquil Bloom Sedalia
Daum Museum of Contemporary Art in Sedalia, Missouri

fired and unfired porcelain paper clay, handmade paper, organic material, pulped offline currency 1 million dollars
40′ x 20′ x 23′

Tranquil Bloom Sedalia, focuses on themes of navigating structural boundaries through prolific growth. This piece is the second iteration of my installation Tranquil Bloom. Tranquil Bloom Sedalia utilized my historic research of the area, where I learned of their booming economic growth in the production of blue jeans. This piece incorporates upcycled thrifted blue jeans as well as re-using the upcycling of one million dollars of offline currency into handmade paper. This theme of graceful navigations around harsh structures can be found in my installations Midnight Blooms, Perlman Museum Installation, and Tranquil Bloom.
