Patterns of Nature
Canton Museum of Art in Canton, Ohio

fired and unfired porcelain paper clay, handmade paper, organic material
25′ x 15′ x 18′

An installation inspired by historical botanical motifs found in domestic crafted items such as Persian rugs and Damask linen. All handmade paper florettes are made from up-cycling used clothing and combined with thousands of delicate porcelain pieces. Density of parts creates botanical pattern inspired by both craft research and rock outcroppings. This theme of harmony despite separateness can be found in my Wall Series.
